Angelina Grimke Weld American Women Rights Activist,...

Angelina Grimkà © Weld was an American women rights activist, abolitionist and a leader of the women suffrage movement. She was born in 1805 and spent most her life as an advocate for women rights in the United States. Her most notable works were realized when her article appeared in the local dairies in 1836. In 1838, she notably gave a speech to other abolitionists in Pennsylvania (Weld). The speech was an act of courage since there were protesters outside the hall who were hurling stones. Her speech was incisive towards the end of slavery and advocacy for equal rights among all irrespective of gender. She made the speech since she was against the oppression that was being subjected to women during the early 19th century. Her speech was mostly drawn from her experience of racism, racial injustice and poor treatment of women when she lived in the South. Her belief in the ending of these injustices was based on her religion and belief in Christianity and then natural rights of all individuals. Her motives to write the speech was based on changing the thinking of other people into acknowledging that all humans were equal despite their race, gender or ideologies. They were therefore supposed to be treated as the same irrespective of their social classes. Some of her personal details could have influenced the speech that she wrote. Answer: Introduction: Willowbrook School is a small private school which has a good reputation and wants to adapt IT in their school to provide various services to staff as well as students. So, system design specification has been provided to the school for the design of various interfaces of the information system. The best methodology for developing the system, Training plan for the system and testing techniques for testing the systems have been discussed in this analysis report. Design Architecture: The information system which has been proposed for a small private school named as Willowbrook School would be based on the Client Server Architecture. In Client Server Architecture, there are two types of independent processors i.e. (Setia, 2012) client and server. A client is a process that sends requests to the server for accessing specific services and server is a process that provides the requested services to the client. Both processes either reside in the same system or in different systems connected by a network connection. Among the various types of client/server architecture, multi-tier client server architecture is recommended best for the information system proposed for the school. Since the information system has to be flexible and reusable, that is why multi-tier client server architecture has been chosen. Multi-tier client server architecture is an expansion of 3-tier architecture in which the layers such as application processing, presentation, and data management functions are separated physically. Advantages of using multi-tier client server architecture: Scalable: The multi-tier architecture provides scalability to the system. For e.g., since the tiers are physically separated from each other, therefore involvement of one tier do not affect the other tier involved. Multi-tier deployment nature of it makes it scalable. Security Control: Security can be enforced to (Codeproject.com, 2013) different every tier in a different way according to the security requirement. 1 or 2 tiers have limited number of tiers therefore there is not much security present in those architectures. In n-tier architecture, requests of users are routed by the client presentation layer to business layer and then to the data layer. The client presentation layer acts as a proxy-like layer for the business layer and then business layer acts as a proxy like layer for the data layer. These proxy-like layers are used to protect the layers below to them. Fault tolerance Ability: Without affecting the other layers of architecture, databases in the data layer are clustered for load balance or failover. Therefore, it has a better fault tolerance ability. Friendly and efficient development: Every layer can be handled by a (Codeproject.com, 2013) team member who is specialized in that particular functional area, so the relevant task can be done more efficiently. Better Reusability: The coupling is loose among the layers; therefore, they can be implemented in many ways. That is why; they can be reused by many other applications. Disadvantages of multi-tier client server architecture: As it involves more computers, networks and processes, therefore there may be a (Codeproject.com, 2013) chance that hardware and network bandwidth does not remain good. That is why, using multi-tier, its performance might become comparatively slow. As mentioned above, it requires more number of hardware, and a better network bandwidth, therefore the cost for network, hardware, deployment and maintenance is very high. Cost/Benefit analysis: There are number of benefits accounted on the basis of cost/benefit analysis done over client server architecture. Since client server architecture has a scalability characteristic, therefore it would be easy to expand or shrink the services which help in saving costs. Client server architecture also controls network load due to which there will be less money required for network repairs. As response time is quick for this type of architecture, so number of benefits can be made. Unregistered Users: Unregistered users are those guest users who might visit the website for the first time or they are just the visitors. They are only able to view the basic information about the school provided on the website. Description about various modules or components Module Name: Login Module. The aim of this module is to give access to the registered users to enter to the system and use the specified services. Only registered and authorized users are able to access the system and its services. There is a need of internet connection to access the module, so it is necessary that every user should have internet connection. When a user opens this module, he/she gets connected with the server which checks their login credentials and if the credentials are valid, then entry is allowed for the users. If the user who logs in to the module is a registered or authorized user, then that particular user is redirected to the website for which he/she has privileges. If the user is unregistered or new to the site, then that person is redirected to the sign up page for doing registration. All the data related to this module is stored in MYSQL database. Element Name: Updating, adding and deleting the details of the students: The aim of this module is to permit user to manage the details of students such as updating details, adding new student and deleting a student. All the details related to the students are sent to the server so as to receive the response accordingly. Usually when staff logins and opens this module, staff updates the details of students such as name, subject, marks etc. When student logins and opens this module, he/she can edit their details such as contact number, address and email id etc. School administrator may also open this module for updating the details, adding a student if some new admission takes place or deleting a student when student leaves the school. Internet connection is must to perform all the processes. All the details are stored in MYSQL database and addition and deletion of students is done through matching criterion of database. Element name: Updating the marks of the students: The aim of this module is to permit staff or teachers to update the marks of the students so that students may later on view their results when result gets fully prepared by the staff members. Internet connection is must. Marks of students are sent to server and server responds back when student needs to view marks logging with their credentials. Element name: Uploading questions papers of examinations for admin: The aim of this module is to permit staff or teachers to upload the question papers prepared for examinations and it is to make sure that they are not accessible by students and only accessible by admin for securing it properly and printing them at the time of examination. Agile Development Methodology is a type of software development methodology (Sharma, Sarkar and Gupta, 2012) which builds the software in incremental manner with the help of short iterations of around 1 to 4 weeks. A process of frequent feedback is adopted by the agile so as to deliver a workable product after 1 to 4-week iteration. The individual or group of persons who are involved in the agile methodology: Scrum Master: A scrum master is a main leader of the team who supports the members of team to follow the practices of agile so as to meet with their commitments. Roles of a scrum master are as follows: Protecting the team from any kind of disturbances. Working with an organization for tracking the processes and progress of the company. Enabling co-operation among all the functions and roles. Performing team meetings, retrospective meetings, planned meetings and daily stand-ups meetings. Owner of Product: An owner of a product is a person who owns the product and wants the product to be developed. Roles of a product owner are as follows: Defining the requirements and prioritizing them. Taking part in an active role in release planning meetings and iteration planning. Disadvantages of Structured Methodology: If the system requires changes to be done, then a complete re-work is done because adapting changes in this approach is complex. Time taken to complete development is more and so the cost of development is increased. There is no such involvement of direct management. There is no involvement of nonfunctional requirements in a project based on structured methodology. Advantages of Object Oriented Development Methodology: Object Oriented Development is aimed at appreciating more extended life rather than having little upkeep costs. Object Oriented Framework is considered to be stronger than the conventional frameworks. When another object is created, then it will be acquiring the information related qualities and attributes of the class from which it was brought forward. Therefore, in this way all new objects will acquire qualities from their super classes. That is why; object oriented approach follows high code reusability. Disadvantages of Object Oriented Development Methodology: More lines of codes are included in object oriented approach rather than including procedural projects. Since more directions need to be executed, therefore, these object oriented projects are much slower than the strategy based projects. This approach is not reasonable for a wide range of issues. Testing and Test Data: Testing is a process of detecting the errors in a project so that project becomes error free and of high quality. Data Conversion: The conversion of data can be both iterative as well as incremental. It depends on the following situations: When the existing system data has to get converted into the file system, then n incremental approach is followed. When the data has to be completely transferred into a new system, then an iterative approach is followed. The information has to be entered in the following manner: First of all, data related to the school has to be entered. So, if there are any branches of school, then the information such as name, city name, branch name, address, contact number has to be entered in an iterative way. Then the various subjects and programs offered by the school are entered and information of staff or teachers and students are entered. System change over approach: For the proposed study, school has not enough budgets to handle expensive cost of changeover method. Operation and maintenance of a system at a time is done by the IT team, so it is considered to be the least expensive changeover approach. There might be a chance of occurrence of abnormal errors but they are handled quickly due to its simple implementation and development. Old system is not compatible for school information system, so it is the only best option. Parallel and some other techniques might be expensive to implement for school information system. Conclusion: The Willowbrook school has proposed its information system using the multi-tier architecture. The second biggest reason for failure was that of employees learning of the change from outsidersagain, because management did not communicate. Many employees, especially those affected by the change, expressed extreme resentment about this situation. The final cause of failure was managements reliance on a lean channel of communication, such as a memo instead of a face-to-face meeting. The leadership style of the leaders and managers which are trying to implement change is important to note, not only do leaders need to be able to use the appropriate leadership style for a particular situation but, they also need to know their managers and leaders within their organization and understand which leadership style they respond to best. Some people tend to think of this style as a vehicle for yelling, using demeaning language, and leading by threats and abusing their power. The authoritarian style should normally only be used on rare occasions. In the twentieth-century, racism seemed to hit an all-time high around the world. With America trying to cope after the Civil War and Europe facing genocide, discrimination seemed inevitable, but can the problem of racism be solved? When looking back on America’s history after the Civil War, racism is apparent throughout in the form of segregation. Segregation truly started in 1865 with the Reconstruction of the United States, â€Å"A period from 1865-1877 immediately following the Civil War in which the federal government set the conditions that would allow the rebellious Southern States back into the Union† (â€Å"The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow†). A Reconstruction Policy was presented to the Congress by President Andrew Johnson but he supported white supremacy in the South and favored pro-Union Sothern political leaders who had aided the confederacy in the war. With all of this terror occurring in the south, the Republican-controlled congress was trying to protect blacks. And so, in1815, in a last-ditch effort to protect what remained of Reconstruction, the Congress â€Å"managed to pass a civil rights bill that sought to guarantee freedom of access, regard less of race, to the â€Å"full and equal enjoyment† of many public facilities† (The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow). Jumping ahead to 1970, the public is shown how blacks are treated and live in Toni Morrison’s novel, The Bluest Eye. This book takes place in Lorain, Ohio at the end of the Great Depression. It is the story of three girls: Pecola, eleven; Claudia MacTeer, nine; and Frieda MacTeer, ten. They live in lower class houses and do everything they can to scrape by. In this story, these girls are faced with what is â€Å"beautiful† in the world, and in most people’s eyes that includes blonde hair, blue eyes, and white skin. Claudia could care less if she were white and does not see what all the hustle and bustle about being white is. But Pecola, on the other hand, wants nothing more than to be white. â€Å"Pecola loves Shirley Temple, believing that whiteness is beautiful and that she is ugly† (Sparknotes). Pecola’s life is a life no one should have, nor deserves. Her father drinks, her mother is distant, and the two of them often beat one another. Her mother beats her and her father has raped her on more than one occasion, eventually impregnating her. She continually receives confirmation of her own sense of ugliness. When she buys candy, the grocer looks right through her. Boys constantly make fun of her. And she is wrongly blamed for killing a boy’s cat and is called a â€Å"nasty little black bitch† by his mother. Pecola believes that if she had blue eyes, she would be loved and her life would be transformed. Around the time The Bluest Eye takes place, Europe was facing even harder times. The Holocaust refers to the period from January 30, 1933, when Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany, to May 8, 1945, when the war in Europe official ended. â€Å"During this time, Jews in Europe where subjected to progressively harsher persecution that ultimately led to the murder of six million Jews (1. 5 million of these being children) and the destruction of five thousand Jewish communities. These deaths represented two-thirds of European Jewry and one-third of all world Jewry† (â€Å"The Holocaust: An Introductory History†). In order to turn the European public against the Jews, the Nazi Party created a weekly newspaper called Der Sturmer  (The Attacker). â€Å"At the bottom of the front page of each issue, in bold letters, the paper proclaimed, The  Jews  are our misfortune!   Der Sturmer  also regularly featured cartoons of  Jews  in which they were caricatured as hooked-nosed and apelike. The influence of the newspaper was far-reaching: by 1938 about a half million copies were distributed weekly† (â€Å"The Holocaust: An Introductory History†). As Hitler’s rule progressed, the Jews were made to wear a golden star of David on all their clothing, they could only go to Jewish owned businesses, then finally, they could not own their own business and were only allowed to buy certain types of food. Soon, the Jews were isolated from the rest of the towns and had to live in ghettos. The living conditions in these ghettos were almost unbearable. What the Nazi’s did to the Jews next was unthinkable. â€Å"In June  1941  Germany attacked the Soviet Union and began the Final Solution. Four mobile killing groups were formed called  Einsatzgruppen  A, B, C and D. Each group contained several commando units. The  Einsatzgruppen  gathered  Jews  town by town, marched them to huge pits dug earlier, stripped them, lined them up, and shot them with automatic weapons. The dead and dying would fall into the pits to be buried in mass graves†¦ Jews  were singled out for Special Treatment (Sonderbehandlung), w hich meant that Jewish men, women and children were to be methodically killed with poisonous gas. (The Holocaust: An Introductory History). The camps were liberated gradually, as the Allies advanced on the German army. One survivor of the Holocaust, Elie Wiesel wrote an autobiography called Night about the different things he experienced during World War II and the Holocaust as a Jew in Europe. Only a teenager, Elie writes, after he and his father survive the first selection at Birkenau, â€Å"Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the desire to live. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God Himself. The Ethics Of Poverty I will begin this delicate topic with some information about poverty and then I will explain the differences between those who believe it is not our duty to provide support to the impoverished and those who do. Regardless of who is morally right or wrong or who is responsible for helping the poor, poverty will always be a part of life in this world. There will always be wealthy people and there will always be poor people. It is a fact of our life struggles that corresponds with Darwins theory, only the strong survive. With the economic condition of the world today poverty is a concern that is becoming a greater issue; despite its being overlooked around the world for many years. Most people would rather turn their heads and ignore the fact that there are millions of individuals who live in some state of poverty every day. It is easy for those who are well off to ignore the realization that poverty does exist; because those who choose to remain ignorant about poverty are not worried about where they will sleep that night or where they will get food from. They are also not forced to live in extreme conditions every day or wonder where they can get a shower or clothes, because they have their basic necessities in life. Maybe if they understood what those poverty stricken people were going through, they might reconsider their outlook on poverty. In the United States, poverty is measured by poverty thresholds and poverty guidelines. (Wikipedia, 2011) According to numerous surveys at one time or another, over forty percent of Americans have had to deal with some type of poverty caused by hardships, such as job loss, financial strains, natural disasters, death, divorce, poor economic conditions, and even war. According to the United States Census Bureau, poverty in the U.S. has spiked to an all-time high surpassing fourteen percent. (CNNMoney.com, 2010) According to National Public Radio online, poverty has not been the main issue for many Americans and in fact it has slowly faded from the headlines. (NPR, 2001) So with all that information; I will pose some questions that are always being asked about who are actually responsible for the lack of attention the poverty issue has received. Is the U. S. Government to blame? Do we blame Globalization? Who in the world can be the sole individual to blame? Do we blame Americans because our nation is more advanced than those third world countries? Whose duty is it to help those in need? These questions are the ones that many human rights supporters and their opponents are quarreling over. Despite this information and the questions I presented; there are Americans who believe poverty is a big problem and they are all in consensus that something should be done about it. Many of those individuals also agree that any aid our government/country gives to those in need is only done because it is in the best interest of our national government and not because the government feels they have to. If our government felt it was their duty as a nation to give continuously to the impoverished, then we wouldnt have poverty stricken people or homeless individuals here in the United States. The worlds poverty numbers would diminish extremely if our government felt it was their duty to help all those in need. There are many philosophers like Peter Singer, Ayn Rand, and Fyodor Dostoyevsky and numerous Human Rights Activists such as Thomas Pogge and Simon Caney as well as other humanitarian organizations that believe wealthy people have a moral obligation or duty to help those who are severely destitute. If the well-to-do opt not to help those who live a life of severe poverty, they are considered human rights violators and the same Activist protest there should be some kind of condemnation for ignoring those who are suffering from poverty. (Saddia, 2010) For example, Peter Singer suggests that if the well off have abundance and are well to do then it is their moral responsibility to assist those in need. (Wikipedia, 2011) Helping those in need comes down to ones beliefs and moral values. It really is up to individuals to decide for themselves as to whether or not they want to help the needy. If they feel bad for those in need, then the answer would be yes, those individuals should help the poor. But, if there are no deep feelings of sorrow, then the answer to whether they should help, would be no. Like I previously stated, it is what the individual believes in their mind and heart. Their moral judgment will give them the answer they are searching for as to whether they are wasting their time and money in trying to help the needy or if they feel helping the needy would make them feel better as a person. In the case of poverty, I believe an individuals morals are based off emotions, reflexes and what they feel in their hearts. Most individuals depend on these emotions, reflexes, and feelings to help them make decisions. There is a possibility the world could benefit from those who help the needy; the total number of impoverished families and people in the world might be reduced with help from the wealthy. But there are too many poverty stricken people in this world to help, that it would take much longer than we have on this earth to see the positive changes. All individuals have a right to basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, and shelter; however, providing the basic necessities to the needy should not be the sole responsibility of those who are better off. An individual who is well off can only do so much for so long and after helping those in need, individuals begin to assume they are being taken advantage of and they start providing less and less assistance to the needy. They tend to find a mindset of why am I the only one helping these people and why should I help them. Other individuals have concerns as to where their monetary assistance is actually going. People who help out by donating money to those charity organizations that support the impoverished, wonder if their monetary support is actually making it to those in need in a third world country or if some organization leader is keeping a majority of the donated money to help cover costs of that organization. Like me I wonder the same thing, because I know there are millions of people and charity organizations who are helping the impoverished, but we cannot assume that all the aid is going to those needy because nothing is really changing for those who are poor. It seems those who support the poor are fighting a losing battle. On the other hand, there are many people world-wide who believe the well-to-do do not have a moral duty or obligation to provide support or provide assistance to those who desperately need it. Individuals who think this believe they have worked too hard to for what they have, that they shouldnt have to just give it away because someone else in another country is not working hard enough to alleviate their plight. They also believe that it is not their concern or their fault that people in other countries are so poor. Forcing the well-to-do to share their wealth with the poor would be considered a violation of their rights since they are not being allowed to choose whether to give or not. If we continue to just provide assistance instead of resources for them, to the impoverished we are just causing more problems down the road, because those who are poor will continue to expect support instead of using the resources to better themselves. Needless to say, the poor continue to reproduce at a greater number than the rich. So those third world countries are practically doubling in population and if we continue to provide some sort of safety net in the form of support from the wealthy, then how can the poor population ever recover. I dont want to venture into religious opinions, but the Bible does state there will always be poor amongst us. Yet many Archbishops state, the rich should help the poor. Garrett Hardin a philosopher as well was opposed to Peter Singers theory that the rich should be influenced to help the poor. There are many well-to-do individuals who claim they have no responsibility for the millions of poor people across the world, because it was not their fault the poor people ended up in that situation. Yet there are those who believe we have several options: we may be tempted to try to live by the Christian ideal of being our brothers keeper, or by the Marxist ideal of to each according to his needs. (Hardin, 2003) Those who believe we should not supp ort the poor are said to have more of an individual egoism (Philosophy Basics, ) which means they are more inclined to act in their self-interest. So with all that being said, what is the morally right thing to do and whos duty is it to help those in need? There is and always will be different views on who is to blame and who should help the impoverished. The absolute fact is that there will always be poverty stricken people in this world no matter if we as individuals feel it is our duty to help those in need or not. From the beginning of time to the present day, people have fallen into two categories, they are either hunters or they are gatherers. Those who fall into the hunter category or have the hunter persona are individuals who fight hard to ensure their families have the basic necessities and more if possible. Then you have those individuals who fall into the gatherer category or have the gatherer persona; they expect others, particularly the hunters to feed and take care of them. There are several reasons as to why people are severely poor and those people who are capable of helping would probably make the better decision and help those who fell into poverty because of a natural disaster, job loss due to businesses downsizing, or even medical related problems which keep people from working. Extreme reasons like that affects individuals differently and they are more inclined to help those who fell into poverty. But for someone to say we should help those in need because they fall victim to drugs or violence is not a severe enough reason to entice someone to help. People are not sympathetic to those kinds of reasons. I however, dont believe it is the rich mans responsibility to take care of the poor simply because we choose our own path in life and there is always room for change. Staying in a state of poverty just because there is a small amount of help is not a justifiable reason to avoid changing their situation. I also dont if someone who was extremely poor suddenly became rich, that they would turn around and give their money to the poor. I believe they would possibly donate some of their money to certain charity organizations or maybe give a little money to friends or family who helped them through the tough times. But how long would they continue to give their earnings to the poor is unknown, because they possibly would become tired of having to continuously support those who have less. So in the end, who is really to blame for the poor being poor? I believe their governments should rise up and do more to alleviate the poverty issues in their respective countries. For example, Africa is known for being a continent with a majority of the population being impoverished and not having basic necessities. Yet they export oil, diamonds, and other goods which would increase their Gross National Product and they could use the increase to help the poor. If the country where those needy live has a failing economy, then who is responsible or who do we blame? Do we blame it on Globalization? I believe the American welfare system does not help the poor or improve their situation, it merely allows them to get by and because of this they do not put enough effort into improving their status. It is true to this day, the rich get richer and the poor, poorer.

The target market and the marketing techniques changed in many ways over the existence of the brand. Instead of people wanting just wanting a comfortable jean when working they began to want something stylish and that celebrated the history of the product. For today’s market for jeans I would target the male and female demographic from ages 16-24.It said in the case that males and females from ages 20-30 could not recognize the GWG brand and i believe that a new jean with flare and teenage appeal can do very well in the market. For this market segment I would focus my effort on making my jeans Fashion forward, proper fit, cool and the image of the brand. I chose this target market because the clothing market itself is being dominated by these young individuals looking for the next â€Å"hip† trend.I believe that these teens have the ability to make their parents buy these products because they may become popular with the acquisition of the coolest jeans. By appealing to the market as a new hip jean you can price jeans for a higher price than the original jeans. I believe that the older demographic 40+ may already be loyal to a particular brand of jeans but the young adult demographic has not been tapped and the ability for growth is massive. 2) I believe for this target market the largest competition is higher class brands mentioned in the case such as Guess and Calvin Klein.These brands appeal to the younger demographic and are known as the popular and premium brand of jean. These are the closest competitor because young adults see movie stars on TV wearing these popular jeans and believe that is they buy these jeans they can emulate there favorite athletes or actors. By gaining access and being known as a stylish and premium brand of jean the new line will appeal to the target market of 16-24. 3. ) The GWG brand has a limited target market and does not represent a very big market share of the industry.The GWG brand has a fairly simple and traditional value proposition; this benefits the brand because the GWG jeans are remembered as an iconic symbol of the quintessential everyman’s working jeans and as a  pioneer in the jeans  industry. The favourable points of the  GWG brand are specific qualities that are valued by consumers. The brand enjoys a long-standing reputation as one of the very first to enter the industry. These are customers that are loyal to the brand and can rely n the quality and comfort of the jeans, GWG is valued by the comfort, durability and the fact that customers can rely on brand. These points of parity have come about because GWG is known as the working men’s jean with the older demographic (40+) can always rely on GWG as producing a quality pair of jeans that they can go back to. As one 44 year old m ale said â€Å"GWGs are rough, rugged and a good fit. They’re are not fashionable, but can take more washings and last longer before tearing apart at the seams. . This quote epitomizes what a GWG jean represents and this is the reason they still have favourable points of value. I think comparing them to a company such as Carharrt can benefit the brand. Both brands are known for being clothing that is used by the working man. I think that the resonating focus of GWG is that it is a brand that was around for both world wars and is a product that can be recognized for its comfort and its ability to appeal to the working man. 4. I believe that the most appropriate distribution channel for the new type of jeans is to market it through boutiques in malls and other popular retail chains. If the young adult demographic can recognize these jeans while in the retailers this will draw the individuals to the product. I think with the resonating focus of being a reliable brand, parents w ill recognize the brand of Levi and will support the kids more if they decided to buy a product this new product because they have notion that this pair of jeans aren’t just stylish but also can be reliable and long lasting.

Covalent or Molecular Compound Nomenclature Molecular compounds or covalent compounds are those in which the elements share electrons via covalent bonds. The only type of molecular compound a chemistry student is expected to be able to name is a binary covalent compound. This is a covalent compound made up of only two different elements. Identifying Molecular Compounds Molecular compounds contain two or more nonmetals (not the ammonium ion). Usually, you can recognize a molecular compound because the first element in the compound name is a nonmetal. Some molecular compounds contain hydrogen, however, if you see a compound which starts with H, you can assume it is an acid and not a molecular compound. Compounds consisting only of carbon with hydrogen are called hydrocarbons. Hydrocarbons have their own special nomenclature, so they are treated differently from other molecular compounds. Writing Formulas for Covalent Compounds Certain rules apply to the way names of covalent compounds are written: The more electropositive element (further left on the periodic table) is listed before the more electronegative element (further right on the periodic table).The second element is given an -ide ending.Prefixes are used to denote how many atoms of each element are present in the compound. Qu son los delitos de conducta inmoral y consecuencias Los delitos inmorales tienen enormes  consecuencias negativas tanto para los migrantes -legales e indocumentados- como para las personas  que desean visitar o emigrar a Estados Unidos. Y es que estos delitos, conocidos en inglà ©s como crimes of  moral turpitude o CMT o ICMT, afectan a la capacidad para sacar todas visas no inmigrantes, como por ejemplo la de turista. Tambià ©n son causa para que se rechace la obtencià ³n de la tarjeta de residencia, tambià ©n conocida como green card. Asimismo, los delitos inmorales son causa de deportacià ³n y, finalmente, tambià ©n pueden impedir la obtencià ³n de la ciudadanà ­a estadounidense por naturalizacià ³n. Por todas estas razones en este artà ­culo se explican cules  son las felonà ­as o delitos inmorales y cà ³mo afecta a cada una de las situaciones que pueden presentarse y quà © se puede hacer en estos casos.  ¿Cules son los delitos inmorales? No hay ninguna ley que diga cules son. De hecho, ninguna persona es formalmente acusada y enjuiciada por un delito de conducta inmoral. Entonces,  ¿quà © son? Segà ºn la Corte de Apelaciones de Inmigracià ³n (BIA, por sus siglas en inglà ©s), los delitos inmorales son conductas molestas que atentan contra la moralidad de la sociedad, bien porque su autor actuà ³ con una intencià ³n realmente mala (evil) o porque actuà ³ sin ningà ºn cuidado o consideracià ³n, incluso con temeridad.  ¿Quià ©n decide que un delito o una falta es inmoral, que es moral turpitude? Las agencias del gobierno, como el Servicio de Ciudadanà ­a e Inmigracià ³n, conocido como USCIS en inglà ©s, o los oficiales consulares. Y por supuesto las Cortes de Inmigracià ³n. Hay que destacar que no hay opinià ³n unnime y que la misma conducta puede ser considerada de manera distinta segà ºn la persona a la que le corresponda valorarlas. En todo caso, a continuacià ³n se enuncia una lista de acciones que, segà ºn las circunstancias del caso, han sido catalogadas consistentemente como delitos inmorales, destacando que muchas de ellas estn catalogadas como delitos (felonies), pero otras son, en la mayorà ­a de los casos, simples faltas desde el punto de vista penal (misdemeanors). Pero eso no es obstculo para que sean considerados delitos inmorales a la hora de aplicar las leyes migratorias. Adems, hay que subrayar que algunos de los delitos de conducta inmoral se consideran tambià ©n como agravados. Si se califican como agravados, las consecuencias son incluso ms graves. Listado de delitosy faltas que pueden ser calificados como inmorales Delitos de conducta inmoral contra la propiedad: Extorsionar, hurtar, robar, transportar con conocimiento mercancà ­a robada o aceptarla.Defraudar mediante representacià ³n falsa. Es decir, presentando a sabiendas un hecho falso como si fuese verdadero para poder defraudar a otra persona.Alterar un documento con el objeto de lograr que otra persona, la và ­ctima, entregue un tà ­tulo o escritura de propiedad.Destruir maliciosamente propiedad pà ºblica o privada.Provocar un incendio o realizar una falsificacià ³n con el fin de cometer un delito contra la propiedad.Desfalcar, malversar fondos o chantajear. Delitos de conducta inmoral contra la Autoridad: Evadir a sabiendas el pago de impuestos, esconder tambià ©n con conocimiento a un fugitivo de la justicia.Falsificar dinero.Cometer perjurio.Tambià ©n forman parte de esta categorà ­a de crà ­menes obtener dinero u otra cosa de valor mediante un fraude cometido por medio del sistema de Correos.Cohecho, es decir, un soborno en el que la persona que pide o recibe dinero u otra clase de beneficio es un funcionario pà ºblico o un miembro de la Autoridad. Delitos de conducta inmoral contra las personas: Abandonar voluntariamente a un nià ±o, cuando como resultado el menor quede en situacià ³n de dificultad econà ³mica o contribuir a que el menor cometa un delito. (El no pagar la pensià ³n alimenticia a un hijo puede ser considerado como un delito inmoral. Asà ­ el hijo està © en EEUU o en otro paà ­s).Participar en un tumulto en el que se produzca una alteracià ³n del orden pà ºblico.Agredir a otra persona o bien con un arma peligrosa o bien con la intencià ³n de robar, asesinar, violar o causar lesiones.Tambià ©n estn incluidos en estos crà ­menes el asesinato, el secuestro, el homicidio voluntario e incluso el involuntario, cuando se el autor haya sido manifiestamente imprudente, excepto en los casos de accidentes de trfico que no se consideran como una falta moral, a menos que haya habido consumo de drogas, alcohol, exceso de velocidad a todas luces temerario. Delitos contra la libertad y la moral sexual: Bigamia, o estar casado con ms de una persona al mismo tiempoIncesto y estupro, entendido este à ºltimo como una relacià ³n sexual de un adulto con un menor de edad que ya ha alcanzado la adolescencia, aunque dicha relacià ³n sea consentida por el menor.Violacià ³nProstitucià ³nFraude de paternidad, es decir, que una mujer declare que un determinado hombre es el padre biolà ³gico de un nià ±o a sabiendas de que el verdadero padre es otro, generalmente por interà ©s econà ³mico.Actos de naturaleza sexual en los que no hay tocamiento con la và ­ctima, como por ejemplo exposicià ³n en pà ºblico y ante otra persona de las partes à ­ntimas.Actos lujuriosos y obscenos inapropiados (lewdness), como mantener relaciones à ­ntimas en pà ºblico. Consecuencias migratorias de los delitos inmorales Los delitos inmorales pueden afectar a asuntos tan distintos como la deportacià ³n, denegacià ³n de visas no inmigrantes, denegacià ³n de la green card y no aprobacià ³n de la peticià ³n de naturalizacià ³n para obtener la ciudadanà ­a estadounidense. Como causas de deportacià ³n, recordar que los extranjeros que se encuentran en Estados Unidos pueden ser deportados dependiendo del tipo de infraccià ³n que cometan. En el caso especà ­fico de cà ³mo los delitos inmorales pueden ser causa de deportacià ³n de los residentes permanentes legales decir que puede suceder si: se cometieron en los cinco primeros aà ±os que siguieron a la  entrada en EEUU y la sentencia fue de, al menos, un aà ±o.Se cometieron 2 o ms delitos inmorales desde la fecha en que fue admitido a Estados Unidos legalmente. Dependiendo del caso, podrà ­a obtenerse una forma de alivio frente a la deportacià ³n segà ºn los lazos familiares, tiempo de estancia en los Estados Unidos, etc. Eso siempre que el delito inmoral no sea, al mismo tiempo, un delito agravado. Porque estos à ºltimos permiten menos opciones. Adems, los delitos inmorales pueden ser causa de lo que se conoce como inadmisibilidad. Esto opera de distintas formas. Por ejemplo, es causa para la denegacià ³n de la green card tanto cuando se tramita por ajuste de estatus o por medio de un procedimiento consular. Asimismo, los delitos inmorales convierten en inadmisibles a los extranjeros que desean ingresar a EEUU con una visa no inmigrante o sin visa por pertenecer a un paà ­s en el Programa de Exencià ³n de Visas.   La inadmisibilidad aplica por delito inmoral cuando la condena mxima que se puede recibir es de ms de un aà ±o. Tambià ©n cuando se ha sido sentenciado a ms de seis meses de reclusià ³n. En estos dos la regla no aplica cuando se cometià ³ el delito con menos de 18 aà ±os y ya han pasado al menos 5 desde la fecha en que se abandonà ³ la prisià ³n o el correccional. Tambià ©n se es inadmisible cuando se han cometido dos o ms delitos inmorales. En este caso no hay excepcià ³n por cuestià ³n de edad. En los casos de inadmisibilidad podrà ­a solicitarse un perdà ³n, tambià ©n conocido como waiver o permiso. Si bien hay que tener en cuenta que se piden ms requisitos en el caso de que el perdà ³n fuera necesaria para obtener una visa inmigrante (residencia permanente). En estos casos de visas inmigrantes la ley contempla dos supuestos en los que se puede aprobar el perdà ³n. En primer lugar, si ya han pasado ms de 15 aà ±os desde que se cometià ³ el delito inmoral y la persona ha sido rehabilitada o, en segundo lugar, si la persona ha sido pedida por uno de sus padres, cà ³nyuges o hijos que son ciudadanos americanos o residentes permanentes legales y se puede probar que se da el requisito de dureza extrema. Por à ºltimo, los delitos inmorales tambià ©n afectan a la naturalizacià ³n para obtener la ciudadanà ­a estadounidense porque o se cumple el requisito de buen carcter moral. Es muy importante asesorarse porque en la prctica muchos de estos casos dan lugar al inicio de un proceso de deportacià ³n. La importancia de abogado en casos de delitos inmorales Los delitos inmorales pueden provocar consecuencias muy graves. Adems, tienen el problema de que no hay un listado cerrado de acciones que pueden ser asà ­ calificadas por lo que a veces hay una situacià ³n poco clara sobre posibles efectos. Tambià ©n hay que tener en cuenta que para tener problemas no es necesaria la condena, ya que es suficiente la admisià ³n de haber cometido un delito inmoral. Love is rarely defined because everyone experiences it differently. What one person thinks is love, another may think is craze or vice versa. How does one know he or she is in love? How is it possible to distinguish between the love of romance and the love shared between friends? In order to understand love, people need to first understand the two major types of love which can be described as romantic love and friendship love. People often define romantic love based on its difference from friendship love. Would you kiss your best friend? Perhaps, but it is not necessarily the things you do with your romantic partner that makes your love spark. Romantic lovers are usually on each other’s minds all the time. Couples make large life decisions based on their romantic partners because they cannot imagine life without those people. Romantic love guides a person’s mind and can sometimes cloud it as to what the right decisions might be. After all, romantic love can be extremely selfless. Friendship love can often turn into romantic love, as it has many times throughout history, but the birth of romantic love between friends will often kill the love of friendship. In other words, friends who become romantic lovers rarely can go back to being â€Å"just friends. Why is it that romantic love is so overpowering? The love of friendship can be very strong, but it is the emotional intensity of romantic love that forever changes the simplicity of the love between friends. Friendship love does not have all the same guidelines that romantic love seems to have. Each friend couple may have a unique kind of love between each other. Friendship love is best described as a warm feeling between people. Girlfriends may have different friendship love for each other than a male and female friend pair may have; the same for male friends. Male and Female friends may sometimes undergo a lot of pressure from other friends and family to turn their friendship love into romantic love, which doesn’t always work. There is a line that friends may cross over, and to know that line is to know the difference between romantic and friendship love. Friends have complete trust for someone and naturally want to be around him/her. People who love each other want to make each other happy; they want to be there as confidants, helpers, and company. Friendship love is often compared to the love between siblings as well. In many cases, a sibling is just as good a friend as any. Society will not accept romantic love between relatives, but friendship love is encouraged and an amazing aspect to have. Everybody experiences love in a different way and may not agree with the concepts that it is dealt with. In the end, it does not matter whether or not the kind of love someone feels fits into any category. Love is personal, and the important thing is, is that it makes people happy and feels cared for. Whether people have romantic or friendship love, love is meant to mean that it is an emotion of a strong affection and personal attachment, and a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection.
